Another skin for the Skunkworks T-28A which you will find in their Third Party section. THIS SKIN CONTAINS A SET OF NEW(and much improved) WEAPONS PYLONS for all your T-28A operations. Follow the READ ME file for installation.

The Royal Saudi Air Force obtained four T-28A aircraft from the USA during the 1950's. These Trojans were used for training purposes up until 1973 when they were retired. At least 2 remain today, one in the Royal saudi Air Force Museum, the other is derelict and remains at King Abdulaziz University.

Tested on post 08 patch WOV.

New pylons will be on all your T-28A's once installed.

I watched both these movies tonight for the first time... It seems that whenever the chance to watch them has been around I have been unable to do so... They are both very very good movies in my opinion and outclass Saving Private Ryan as they look at the whole and not just the one... And I cannot find fault with either of them they where both expertly made... And the way they are means that nether of them is poorer for watching the other if that makes sense... Also they where both well acted with the actor's allowed to act instead of letting the CGI get in the way as it sometimes does with war films...

Was a pleasure to spend 5 and a half hours watching them...

Just found, that in the TrackIR5 menue, the slider "Speed" decides in "Yaw",
how far round you have to turn your head, until you get 180° / your "six".

Now I have raised "Speed" to 0.8; and set "Smooth" to 30 - that gave me
a much faster "check six" look with less turning my head.
now; but I will keep it. It feels more like a real head movement.

Why had I never tried this before?

Unbelieveable!
I had never thought, that I might be able to run most sliders on 5; so I had them like this:

Aircraft: 5
Terrain Detail: 3
Scenery Detail: 4
Effects Quality: 5
Clouds: 2

But then I told a friend, who is more into computers and games, that I am getting white jaggies
at the screen sides, when I quickly move my head with the TrackIR clip.

He gave me the advice to set all on 5. He meant, that my graphic card, an 4870, would be more
than able to handle the sim; but that the processor might have additional work with deminishing
the visual qualities again.

Not sure, if that's true, but I tried it. Now, all on 5, I still had jaggies; but when I put "Terrain Detail"
on 4, they were gone! All others are still on 5 now!

If you have stutters or jaggies, you should give it a try, to set them higher instead of lower.

FM upload - FE1 and FE2

Thought I'd start a new thread so this doesn't get lost.

I won't be uploading anymore FMs to the forum, it is starting to get confusing with so many FM Updates! I'll combine everything and upload to the Download section for one download. It is taking some time, so maybe another week or so. The download will be for FE1 and FE2. The difference between the two is really the Game Files.

There are quite a few changes between what I have uploaded here so far in the forum and in the final download, so recommend you download and reinstall when available.

Some changes:

The game files (weapondata and gundata files) for FE2 are newer and improved.

Will include the extra FMs I haven't yet released, that I mentioned in the FM Progress thread (Fokker E1, Pfalz E1, Pfalz E3, Fokker D2, Fokker D3, Fokker D3L (with ailerons), Borts Albatros D1 & D2, Halberstadt D3, Albatros D3s, Pfalz D3s, F2Bs, Hanriot). More specifically there is also two Pfalzes one with 160 HP engine, the other with a 180 HP engine. Two F2Bs, one with Lewis on wing, one without.

There are changes to FMs - fixes like elevators to HP400 and Pup, and tweaks to the FMs eg, Spads 13s, Strutter, Morane L, Morane N's, Se5a.

Also Snipe FM changed considerable, more gritty and far better performance, and comes with a new cockpit - the Camels. Not a great fit, this one is hard to do. If you don't like it, change in snipe.ini from:

//CockpitDataFile=Snipe_cockpit.ini
CockpitDataFile=SnipeNew_cockpit.ini

to ...

CockpitDataFile=Snipe_cockpit.ini

Quite a few AI changes - the Fokker E3s (for Bucky), Walfisch, Hannovers, Spad7s and a few more I can't remember.

I've tweaked the FMs and loadouts for all the combo-loadout planes quite a bit, including placement of Lewis on wings. The Camel placements are far better now, and the FMs for the Lewis version and the F2 version are somewhat different, more based on my Camel 130hp FM (the previous ones were not). Also the only Camel 110hp Lewis is a dual Lewis - there was no single Lewis version.

So in short: it will be ready soon, and you should download and reinstall the FMs and game files. This will be the last update by me for FE1.

Edit: Ahh, couple more newer ones I forgot to mention. The Fe2d, N27 RFC (with single Lewis), Albatros D3 Oef, Hansa Brandenburg DI and Phonix D1. The last two have improved capability, they were a bit too hard before, and the Phonix is the slightly better performer with the larger and improved rudder.

SF2 has always been my favourite of all the platforms; and after downloading and using the various terrain mods for SF2E and SF2V with hungry anticipation I decided to HEAVILY modify the stock Desert terrain with more than enough of eye candy.

DESCRIPTION:

Without giving too much away, the geographical story is now as follows:

*As well as Dhimar amd Paran, I've added Sharnak from baffmeister's Desert 2 terrain (my inspiration for this), now a colony which is known as the British Protectorate of Sharnak. RAF squadrons are permanantly based there. A couple of other bases, border posts and the like have also been added from Desert 2
*I always thought that D9 and D10 airfields were always a little too close to the border. They've now been moved to the Dhimari 'wastelands' which you'll see on the bottom left side of the enclosed planning map
*About ten SAM sites have been added to various locations on Dhimar and the amount of SAM sites across Paran has been increased, the biggest increase being Paran's capital city of Kurzah; which in SAM site and Flak battery terms is now more like Hanoi during the Vietnam War.
*Ships, cranes, oil tanks, warehouses and the like have been added to ports on both sides. Now the capital cities of Muthala and Kurzah, have extensive docklands. Other coastal towns have at least one docking area for shipping.

Vought F-8EJ Crusader for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:VIETNAM

This is a simple mod of the stock Crusader F-8E to give a fictional F-8EJ in service with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) during the 1964 - 1985 timeline. This package requires you to have the F-8E from SF2V or from your quad-merged install and, of course, the LOD's are NOT included. Three squadrons are covered and each squadron has a different skin (all adapted from stock Third Wire skins) so you can mix things up if you so wish.

203rd Hikotai (no sharkmouth, black radome).

204th Hikotai (sharkmouth, white radome, red fin tip).

302nd Hikotai (sharkmouth, white radome, blue fin tip).

BACKSTORY

After a long selection process the Vought F-8EJ was finally selected by the JASDF in 1962 as its standard interceptor-fighter. With it's impressive unrefuelled range, reliable Pratt & Whitney J-57-P-20J engine and
powerful Magnavox APQ-94J radar the F-8EJ served with a total of eight JASDF squadrons with initial deliveries commencing in late 1964.

Compared to the superb multi-role F-8E, and because of Japan's own 'self-defense' status and imposed peace treaty terms, the F-8EJ was stripped of much of it's surface-attack capability but gained a modified APQ-94
radar, wing-mounted AIM-7E Sparrow missiles and also had a very useful anti-ship capability (deemed acceptable as being an 'anti-invasion' capability) and all eight 'Hikotai' had maritime attack and reconnaissance
as a secondary role. The F-8EJ's served until the mid-1980's with the 302nd Hikotai being the last to surrender this very popular aircraft in JASDF service in 1985.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Drop the F-8EJ_JASDF folder into your Aircraft folder.

2. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder.

Do not just move the folder! You must empty the contents in.

CREDITS

BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.

And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
